Our exterior sign went up last week, but its something that almost didn't happen. We were adamant that feeling strongly about traditional craft skills and living in a conservation area, we would have a local old style foiled sign for the guest house or nothing at all. We were offered plastic, metal, perspex, and plenty of shrugs and 'no one in Gozo makes them any more'. But finally by combining the skills of three people: a modern sign maker, his father who could remember how to make the old style signs and a carpenter to make a rain proof frame, we've managed to get just what we wanted. So do look up as you go by!
